Bulk Barcode Generator for
UPC Labels

This bulk barcode generator turns a pasted or uploaded list of UPC numbers into one PDF. Say how many labels each product needs; every row is checked first. Free, no sign-up, OK for products you sell.

Add your products

Type a UPC in each row, or copy cells from Excel or Google Sheets and paste them into the first UPC box. Columns are matched for you and leading zeros are kept.

Your list is empty.

Text and order
Print order

All labels for a product together, in the order of your list (A A A B B C).

Partly used sheet

Start at label 1

Printing starts at the top-left label. Pick another label if some are already used.

Barcode size

Every label in the job uses the same size: the largest that fits all of them (now 149%). GS1 allows 80% to 200%. Bars are never stretched.

Printer adjustment

Labels printing a little off-center? Print a test page (opens in a new tab) and save the correction as a printer profile. It’s then used automatically for this label stock.

Avery 5163 · 4″ × 2″ · 10 labels per sheet

Add at least one product with a valid UPC to download.

Print at 100% / “Actual size”. Turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit” in the print dialog, or the labels won’t line up and the barcode may shrink.

Print one page on plain paper first and hold it against a label sheet to check the alignment. Still a little off? Print the calibration test page (opens in a new tab) and save the fix as a printer profile.

How it works

How to generate multiple barcodes at once

One list, one check, one print file. It’s a batch barcode generator built for whole sheets and rolls of labels, not for single images.

  1. Step 1: Add your products

Type them into the list, paste a block of cells copied from Excel or Google Sheets, import a CSV or Excel file, or pick products you saved in this browser. Only the UPC column is required.

  2. Step 2: Fix what the check flags

Each row says “Number format looks valid” or explains the problem in plain words, by row number. Suggested fixes, such as a leading zero a spreadsheet dropped, are buttons you click. Nothing changes on its own.

  3. Step 3: Pick your stock and download

Choose an Avery sheet or a thermal roll, set how many labels each product needs, then download one PDF. Free PDFs hold up to 250 labels; bigger jobs are split into parts for you.

What you can paste or upload

A UPC column is all you need. Everything else is optional and goes on the label only if you want it there.

  • Pasted cells from Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers: copy the block, click the first UPC box and paste.
  • A file: Excel (.xlsx), CSV, TSV or plain text. The Excel and CSV importer explains column mapping, leading zeros and the sample file.
  • Saved products from My labels in this browser, for repeat print runs.

The list holds up to 5,000 rows, and each row up to 10,000 labels. Free PDFs hold 250 labels each.

Columns

UPC Required
12 digits. 11, 13 and 14-digit forms are explained row by row.
Product name
First text line, sized to fit.
Second line
SKU, size, color or price.
Labels
How many to print. Blank means 1.

Row-by-row validation before you print

Every row is checked as you type or import. Rows with errors are left out of the PDF and listed by the row number you see in your spreadsheet. Nothing is corrected unless you click the fix.

What the bulk check catches
ProblemExampleWhat you see
Wrong length 3600029145 (10 digits) Error: says how many digits it has and that a UPC-A needs 12.
Leading zero lost 36000291452 (11 digits) Error with a “Use 036000291452” button, because adding a 0 makes the check digit match.
Wrong check digit 036000291453 Error naming the digit the first 11 digits imply. No automatic fix: a typo can be anywhere.
Spreadsheet number format 3.60003E+11 Error: the spreadsheet already threw digits away, so the number has to be re-copied.
Letters or symbols 0360-0029 145A Error naming the characters to remove (spaces and dashes are fine).
EAN-13 form of a UPC 0036000291452 Error with a button to drop the leading 0, which gives the same product number.
Duplicate UPC Same UPC in rows 4 and 9 Warning. With different product names, a stronger warning: two products must never share a UPC.
Quantity “2.5”, “ten”, 0 Error for text or decimals, a warning for 0, and an error above 10,000 (usually a UPC in the quantity column).

Just checking numbers without printing? Use the UPC validator.

Quantities, partly used sheets and print order

Quantities. Each row prints as many labels as its Labels column says. Rows are never merged: if the same UPC is in two rows, both print, and you get a duplicate warning so you can check it was intended.

Partly used sheets. Peeled a few labels off already? Click the first free label on the sheet map and printing starts there. Only the first sheet of the job is affected.

Print order. “Grouped by product” prints all labels for a product together, in your list order (A A A B B C). “One of each, repeated” prints one label per product per round (A B C A B A), which suits picking and packing.

One barcode size. Every label in a job uses the same magnification, the largest that fits all of them, between 80% and 200% of the standard size. Bars are never stretched to fill a label.

Choosing a sheet or thermal roll for a batch

Sheets suit laser and inkjet printers and batches you print now and then. A thermal roll printer is worth it once you print labels every week: no sheets to line up, and one label per PDF page. Compare every size on label sizes.

What the bulk generator can’t do

Better to know before you build a 500-row list.

  • It doesn’t create UPC numbers

It prints the numbers you already have. UPCs come from GS1, and a correct check digit only proves a number is well-formed, not that it is registered to you.

    How to get a UPC
  • UPC-A only, for now

No EAN-13, UPC-E, Code 128, QR codes or Amazon FNSKU labels yet. 13- and 14-digit numbers that are really UPCs get a one-click conversion; other types are flagged, not printed.

    UPC vs FNSKU
  • 250 labels per free PDF

A bigger job is split into several PDFs that each end on a full sheet. Pro is planned with 5,000 labels per job, but it is a waitlist today.

    Free vs Pro
  • It can’t see your printer

The PDF is exact, but a printer set to “Fit to page” shrinks it. Print at Actual size (100%) and test one sheet on plain paper first.

    Printing tips for large batches

Your list stays on your device. Pasting, checking and the PDF all happen in your browser. We count anonymous events such as “PDF downloaded” with the label stock used, never a UPC or product name. See the privacy policy.

Bulk barcode FAQ

How many barcodes can I generate at once for free?

Up to 250 labels in one PDF, counted after quantities are added up (40 products × 5 labels = 200 labels). A bigger job is not blocked: the tool splits it into several PDFs of up to 250 labels, and on label sheets each part ends on a full sheet. You can make as many PDFs as you like. A Pro plan with 5,000 labels per job is planned; see Pro limits.

Can I print several copies of the same UPC?

Yes. Type the number of labels in the Labels column of each row, or set one number for every row with “Same number of labels for every row”. Quantities count toward the free per-PDF limit, so 3 products × 100 labels is a 300-label job and comes as two PDFs.

What happens to rows with an invalid UPC?

They stay in your list, marked with the row number and the reason, and are left out of the PDF until you fix them. When the tool can tell what probably happened, such as a lost leading zero, it shows the corrected number as a button; it only changes the row if you click it. “Remove rows with problems” clears every row that can’t print.

Can I add a product name or SKU above each barcode?

Yes. Each row has a product name and a second line (for a SKU, size or price), printed above the barcode. The text is sized to fit the label and long names are shortened with “…”. Text never makes the barcode smaller than 80% of the standard size; if a label is too small for text and barcode together, the tool prints the barcode only and tells you.

Do I need to sign up to generate barcodes in bulk?

No. There is no account. The list, the check and the PDF are all made in your browser, and the numbers and product names you enter are not sent to our server. Job history and saved products are kept in this browser only.

Which barcode types does the bulk generator support?

UPC-A, the 12-digit retail barcode used in the US and Canada. EAN-13 and Code 128 (which Amazon uses for FNSKU labels) are planned but not available yet. If your list holds Code 128 SKUs or FNSKUs, this tool won’t print them; it marks those rows as Amazon codes (FNSKU/ASIN) instead of guessing.
